What to know about the result
Word boundaries use the browser’s language-aware segmenter when available. A fallback splits text on whitespace. Character counts include spaces and line breaks, counting Unicode code points rather than storage bytes. Sentence counts are estimates based on punctuation, so abbreviations may affect the result. Reading time assumes 200 words per minute.

Programs may treat hyphenated words, numbers, URLs, and punctuation differently. For a school assignment or publication, use the count from the required submission system.
